  39.    MuiEnv is a program for manipulation of environment variables.
  40. MuiEnv can edit, save, load, delete, rename, and create environment
  41. variables.
  42.    Contrary to other programs of this type, MuiEnv supports
  43. subdirectories in ENV: and ENVARC:

  52.    MuiEnv 1.6 needs version 2.04 (37.175) oder higher of the Amiga
  53. Operating System.
  54.    MuiEnv uses MagicUserInterface by Stefan Stuntz.  MagicUserInterface
  55. is not included. You can find it as dev/gui/mui23usr.lha on Aminet.

  63.    For installation, simply copy the program @{b}MuiEnv@{ub} to a directory in
  64. the path.
  65.    As external editor for environment variables @{b}$EDITOR@{ub} is used. So you
  66. must set the @{b}EDITOR@{ub} variable with @{b}SetEnv EDITOR @{i}program name@{ui}@{ub} or with
  67. MuiEnv.
  68.    Alternatively the editor can be determined with the ToolType or
  69. shell-parameter @{b}EDITOR@{ub}.
  70.    @{b}HEXEDITOR@{ub} is used in the same way for @{b}Edit hex.@{ub}.

  78.    MuiEnv may be started from Workbench or CLI.

  92.    MuiEnv opens a window with a listview, a string gadget and several
  93. button gadgets.
  94.    The listview shows the current environment variable, that can be
  95. chosen by arrow keys or by mouse.
  96.    With TAB you can switch between the listview and the string gadget.
  97. The contents of the string gadget are valid for all actions.
  98.    With RETURN or a double click inside the listview you can change to
  99. a subdirectory if a directory is selected, if a short variable is
  100. selected, the @{b}Edit@{ub} button is triggered, if a long variable or a
  101. Variable containing Null-bytes is selected, the @{b}Edit ext.@{ub} button is
  102. triggered.  This is functioning, too, if the string gadget is activated.
  103.    The @{b}Edit@{ub} button opens a new window with a string gadget to change
  104. the current environment variable and three button gadgets: @{b}Save@{ub} saves
  105. the environment variable to @{b}ENV:@{ub} and @{b}ENVARC:@{ub}, @{b}Use@{ub} saves only to @{b}ENV:@{ub}
  106. and @{b}Cancel@{ub} cancels.
  107.    The @{b}Edit ext.@{ub} button calls an external editor to edit the contents
  108. of the current environment variable.  The editor can be determined with
  109. the ToolType or shell parameter @{b}EDITOR@{ub}.  Default is @{b}$EDITOR@{ub}.
  110.    The @{b}Edit hex.@{ub} button calls an external hex-editor to edit the
  111. contents of the current environment variable.  The editor can be
  112. determined with the ToolType or shell parameter @{b}HEXEDITOR@{ub}.  Default is
  113. @{b}$HEXEDITOR@{ub}.
  114.    The @{b}Save@{ub} button copies the current environment variable from @{b}ENV:@{ub} to
  115. @{b}ENVARC:@{ub}.
  116.    The @{b}Reload@{ub} button copies the current environment variable from
  117. @{b}ENVARC:@{ub} to @{b}ENV:@{ub}.
  118.    the @{b}Delete@{ub} button deletes the current environment variable in @{b}ENV:@{ub}
  119. and @{b}ENVARC:@{ub}. It deletes a directory completely with contents.
  120.    The @{b}Rename@{ub} button opens a new window with a string gadget to change
  121. the name of the current environment variable and three button gadgets:
  122. @{b}Save@{ub} renames the environment variable in @{b}ENV:@{ub} and @{b}ENVARC:@{ub}, @{b}Use@{ub} renames
  123. only in @{b}ENV:@{ub} and @{b}Cancel@{ub} cancels.
  124.    The @{b}MakeDir@{ub} button opens a new window with a string gadget to create
  125. a new directory and three button gadgets: @{b}Save@{ub} creates the directory in
  126. @{b}ENV:@{ub} and @{b}ENVARC:@{ub}, @{b}Use@{ub} creates only in @{b}ENV:@{ub} and @{b}Cancel@{ub} cancels.
  127.    The @{b}Rescan@{ub} button rereads the contents of the listview.
  128.    The @{b}Parent@{ub} button shows the contents of the parent directory in the
  129. listview.
  130.    The @{b}Update all@{ub} button copies all Files from ENVARC: to ENV: which are
  131. not already in ENV:. This is usefull if a newly installed program has
  132. installed its environment variables only in ENVARC: or if varibles in
  133. ENV: have been deleted.
  134.    The @{b}Quit@{ub} button quits MuiEnv.
  135.    New variables a created by inserting an new variable name in the
  136. string gadget and pressing @{b}Edit@{ub} or RETURN.
  137.    MuiEnv's Window is an AppWindow. If you drop icons on it, the
  138. corresponding File is copied into the current directory.
